CHAPTER 1: NAME, HEADQUARTERS, DURATION, OBJECTIVES, MEMBERSHIP.

Article 1: It is created in the Republic of Madagascar a non governmental Association called "Association Nationale de Radioprotection - Madagascar" (ANARAP-MAD)
In accordance with the ordinance n° 60-133 of 03 October 1960, modified by the ordinance n°75-015 in 13 August 1975 which rules the regime of associations

Article 2: The association is non-religious, independent of any political party, and non-profit organisation.

Article 3: The headquarters are located at Institut national des Sciences et Techniques Nucléaires (I.N.S.T.N.) Antananarivo. It may be transferred in any other location by decision of the General Assembly on proposal of the "Comité Directeur"

Article 4: The duration of the association is non limited.

Article 5: The objectives of the association are

• to promote radiation protection in Madagascar,
• to set up links with international institutions dealing with the same objectives,
• to care for the enforcement of the regulation in radiation protection
• to propose improvements, amendments,
• to find solutions to problems relevant to the enforcement of the regulation,
• to inform and to train in the field of radiation protection,
• to contribute in the development of the science.

Article 6: Is elected to member of the association any person or any institution who has interest in promoting the objectives of the association and who has accepted to respect the present statute and the internal regulation of the association.

The members of the association are:

• founding members: all participants to the National Seminar on Radiation Protection in 1994,
• full members : any persons directly involved in radiation protection and who has fulfilled the membership requirements defined in the internal regulation of the association.
• benefactor members : any person or any institution supporting technically or financially the association and who has fulfilled the membership requirements defined in the internal regulation of the association.
• corresponding members: any person involved in radiation protection and who is practising in an other country having the same objectives as the association and who has fulfilled the membership requirements defined in the internal regulation of the association.
• associate members: Any person having the same objectives as the association and fulfilling the membership requirements defined in the internal regulation.
• institution members: Any institution interested in the activities of the association. Each institution has to nominate one person to represent it in the meetings and activivities of the association.

Article 7: The candidature of benefactor, corresponding or associate membership is presented to the "Comité Directeur" by two founding or full member.
The candidature of associate members is presented to the "Comité Directeur" by the president, the director of the candidate association , or all person mandated by the candidate association to carry out this task.
